Overview

Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education decided to launch its Data Science programme to meet the global needs of industrial world. With this aim, Master of Science in Data Science programme was offered from the year 2018. This Programme aim to attract bright students throughout the worldfor quality education at post-graduate level. This programme is designed to provide a learning ambience to enhance innovations, problem solving skills, leadership qualities, team-spirit, ethical responsibilities and to equip the graduates with the necessary skills in statistical data analysis andto understand the computing for data science.It is envisioned to apply mathematics, logic, and statistics to the design,development and analysis of software systems.

Why M.Sc. – Data Science?

M.Sc (Data Science) programme is rigorous in the implementation of current IT-related technologies and skills in demand.With encroachment of technology in society, there will be more and more demand for Data Science in diverse sectors. It enables the integration of theory and practice to build a strong foundation for professional employment or research in the discipline. The department has qualified faculty who teach specialized areas likeMachine Learning, Deep Learning, Linear Predictive Analysis, Advanced Database Management Systems and RProgramming. Being a pervasive discipline for all science courses it encourage students to pursue diverse inter-disciplinary interests.Companies are earnestly seeking data scientists to deal with the challenges of Big Data.Be it financial services, healthcare, retail, education or even security and governance, data science is now increasingly used.This PG Programme will lay a persuasive theoretical foundation that will empower the students to develop their own customized data science algorithms desired for deriving insights from very large data sets, which are now continuously generated, thanks to IoT, Social Media and Digitisation.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • M.Sc Data Science is offered to only those students who meet the eligibility requirements. The minimum Master in Data Science eligibility demands the students to have pursued a UG in Bachelor’s degree of mathematics ,physics ,statistics, computer science and computer application with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognized institute. The course has no age limit, so anyone who is qualified can enroll.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • Usually, no entrance examination is conducted for the admission to M.Sc. Computer Sciences. Admission is done directly on the basis of merit in the B.Sc Graduates. Aspirants who qualify the B.Sc in Science Streams and BE/B.Tech Engineering examination will be eligible for admission. based on intake the institute will conduct personal interview rounds for the eligible candidates. Further, the shortlisted candidates have to be physically present at the time of seat allotment, document verification, and fee payment.

  • Step 1: Candidate Registration
  • Enter all the relevant information Carefully.
  • Registration details will be sent to your registered Mobile Number and Email ID.
  • Step 2: Filling Online Application Form
  • Login with your registration details sent to your Email / Mobile number.
  • Provide all relevant details carefully, before submission.
  • Step 3: Photo and Signature Upload
  • Photograph Image: A Recent Passport Size Photograph ( in .jpg format with Maximum size 80 KB).
  • Signature Image: Size should be between 10KB to 200 KB with the dimension of 3.5 CM X 1.5 CM.
  • **For Photograph, the background must be plain white or off-white. The Head must be directly facing the camera with your full face in view. No hats or head coverings, unless you wear them daily for religious purposes. Your full face must be visible and your head covering cannot cast shadows on your face.
  • Step 4: Mode Of Payment
  • Online Mode through Netbanking / Credit / Debit card/UPI. Application Cost (Rs: 600) – for General Candidates.
  • NRI students – USD 35 can pay through online.
